Business potential of Uzbekistan: summary of Krzysztof Długosz's speech at the 12th International Asian Congress

During the 21th International Asian Congress, which took place in Toruń on May 23–2025, XNUMX, Krzysztof Długosz, president of EQUNICO SE, presented his observations on business opportunities in Uzbekistan. This year's edition of the congress, titled “Building Bridges: Variety of Models for International Cooperation and Imagined Future” focused focused on various models of international cooperation and the future of relations between Asia and Europe and was an excellent opportunity to discuss Uzbekistan's potential as a strategic growth center in Central Asia. EQUNICO SE is actively developing its presence in the region and Krzysztof Długosz's observations shed light on the potential that this dynamic market offers.

Krzysztof Długosz emphasized that Uzbekistan is currently undergoing a phase of economic transformation, driven by reforms and opening up to foreign investments. The projected GDP growth of around 6,0% in 2025 and the planned admission of the country to the World Trade Organization (WTO) by 2026 make it an increasingly attractive market. The strategic location, rich natural resources and pro-development government policy create favorable conditions for sectors such as energy, construction and technology. An example is the success of the subsidiary of EQUNICO SE - Elektrqishloqqurilish JSC, which implements significant energy projects.

The President of EQUNICO SE indicated that Uzbekistan could become a gateway to Central Asia for Polish companies. EQUNICO SE actively supports Polish entrepreneurs in entering this market, conducting talks in industries such as agriculture, food and services. Moreover, lower production costs in Uzbekistan can increase the competitiveness of Polish companies, e.g. in the production of advanced steel components. The country also serves as a logistics center for neighbors such as Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, which opens the door to further regional expansion.

Krzysztof Długosz encouraged the congress participants to take a closer look at Uzbekistan as a market with huge potential. The modernizing economy, favorable investment climate and the successes of the EQUNICO Group - such as the aforementioned energy projects - show that this is a place for companies ready for international development. His speech was an inspiring example of how international cooperation can translate into specific business opportunities.
